Young Vancouver kidnapping victim and parents thank police for rescue

VANCOUVER -- Kidnap victim Graham McMynn stepped into the spotlight Thursday for the first time since his dramatic rescue, affably recalling his joy at seeing Mounties break into a suburban Vancouver house to free him from eight terrifying days of captivity.

"They busted through the door and I was pretty excited to see the police," the smiling, self-possessed McMynn, 23, told a packed news conference. "I mean that was the best."

McMynn said he wasn't able to provide details about his ordeal, but did have this to offer: "I was kidnapped. So it wasn't very fun."

I think this is making news across the country. Talked to a couple of news folks out here and they (along with many others) think this is very odd. No ransom demands. Weird reactions from parents and kidnappee. There is probably a little more intrigue to come. Should be interesting.
